Why it matters in the plant

The maintenance plan turns a task list into orders automatically. Choosing the wrong plan type, or a mismatched strategy, generates the wrong work.

Using a task list with a different strategy than the strategy plan: the task list must use the same strategy as the plan [S2].

1Create the maintenance plan

A maintenance plan automatically produces call objects (such as maintenance orders) at set intervals. It has scheduling data and one or more items. An item holds the reference object, the planning data (planning plant, planner group, order type) and, optionally, a task list. Use a single-cycle plan when the whole task list is due every time at a fixed interval. Use a strategy plan for graded activities at different intervals. In a strategy plan, the task list must use the same strategy as the plan.

Craft notes

Mechanical: the pump fits a strategy plan (IP42). I&E: a fixed-interval transmitter calibration fits a single-cycle plan (IP41).
