Execution, Confirmation, Technical Completion (TECO) and History

Safety: Educational overview only. Always follow your site's procedures, permits and applicable regulations.

Module 1 Est. 3.5 h · estimated

Lesson 8 of 9Process step: ExecutionAudience: Mechanical + I&EPrerequisites: Lesson 7 (or equivalent experience)

You'll be able to

  • Confirm time and measurements
  • Record technical findings on the notification
  • Set TECO correctly, and use history to review SIF intervals

Why it matters in the plant

Confirmation and history are the evidence base for every future plan, estimate and proof-test interval.

In this lesson

  1. Confirm time and results IK11IW41IW42IW44
  2. Enter the technical confirmation IW22IW42
  3. Set technical completion (TECO) IW32
  4. Close the SIF loop IK17

Common mistakes

  • Setting TECO before confirming all labor and clearing materials [S14].
  • Not recording as-found/as-left values: the SIF interval review has no evidence [S7][S23].

Steps and transactions

Each step pairs the planning work with the transactions you'll use. Codes link to the reference.

1Confirm time and results

Use IW41 for individual time confirmation, IW42 for overall completion confirmation, and IW44/IW48 for collective confirmation. A confirmation records the work center, the person, start and finish, progress, internal costs, materials, and measurement or counter readings. Some operations done means partially confirmed. When all operations that need confirmation are finally confirmed, the order is finally confirmed.

Craft notes

Mechanical: vibration readings. I&E: as-found and as-left calibration values.

2Enter the technical confirmation

Record the cause of damage, the work performed, the damage location and machine downtime on the notification. When the notification is completed, this goes into notification history.

Craft notes

Same for both crafts.

3Set technical completion (TECO)

Set TECO in IW32. TECO deletes open reservations and capacity requirements, removes open PRs for external or non-stock items, and sets the status to technically completed. Postings are still possible afterward. The TECO source covers production orders, and its PM behavior is confirmed only via a vendor blog. Confirm all labor and clear all materials before TECO. Deadline monitoring may shift later plan dates.

Same for both crafts.

4Close the SIF loop

Track demand rates and dangerous failures found in testing, and revisit proof-test intervals using operating data from your history. Candidate: IK17, Display Measurement Documents [map C].

I&E only.
